PICO update on hiring status

Well, we started the hiring off the new PICO list this past Sunday night 3/W for 1/W (Monday).  It's no surprise that the PICO's are answering the phone calls and ready to work.  As of this writing SAB ran the list once and is on the second round and is on letter "H" right now.  I'm told it's going smoother than expected, and hiring is getting done fairly quickly.  However, as you can imagine the Over time is pretty much gone, unless there is last minute call outs or hiring errors.

I'm writing this just to give a heads up to the staff at CIM, many were wondering how it will work and how it will impact staff.  Early indications are that PICO's will get their hours in, as of this writing.  We will have to see once all the current transfers depart, how will it impact hiring.

Good luck to the new Crew of PICO's

Have a Safe 8

  1. As a pico officer Id like to say I was happy to get a call today but I also want to say that it was stressfull not knowing were they are at on the list and when my number will be getting called. I sat by my phone all day and pretty much could not go on about my buisness as usual. I wish there was a way to find out with out having to call the sab where they are on the list as I understand they are pretty busy

  2. .Damn I hope there is no " CIM Shenanigans" and the pico's get their hours every week---even when the "Late Call-ins" and "Hiring Errors" create overtime for the select few with connections. All on the Pico list are great officers and deserve to get their due!!!!..G. Weber

  3. Curious....what does Picos getting their hours mean? Twenty hours? Ten hours? No benefits? Can't pay bills? Or does it mean forty hours here....ten hours there....twenty hours there? Week by week of uncertainty? Praying for retirement packets to be turned in so you can get back to PFT? I am not knockin you Sarge, I know you mean well and are only providing the info. as it comes in. This whole process is a mess.

  4. I'm writing this as a friend and not as a Supervisor or CCPOA representative. If I was a PICO I would all show up to the next CCPOA CIM chapter meeting and demand that your local union represents you. Get all the PICO's together and decided on a plan and propose it to your Union President. Have him set a union table on hiring of the PICO's and submit a proposal that you all mutually agree to. Sgt Crosby is your PIE coordinator, she proposed a plan, however it was rejected by CIM management. Feel free to call her and ask her what she was trying to do, I'm sure she will share her plan with you. If you read 26.01 section C #2 it clearly states that you can submit plan, if agreed upon. JUST MY TWO CENTS

  6. Bull there is no organization or leadership here at CIM , your website have done more for us officers as far as informing the masses than any site has ever doneI know it's falling on death's ears but we need YOU to take the reins of this runaway cart and run for local chapter president!!

  7. I agree with sergeant lopez, we need to go to the next chapter meeting and demand representation. After all, even if we only work 1 day a month, I am sure that CCPOA is still going to take $80.00 out of our checks. So we should be getting something for our money right? My next question is, when and were is the next chapter meeting???

  8. So let the CIM shenanigans begin. So word is that there are over-timers at the hospital but the pie/pico list was never exhausted.... It would be nice if the union would clarify as to the rules that CIM would be following so that we have a better idea as to how this is going to work. waiting by the phone all day really sucks.

  9. As a PICO for over 25 years, all at CIM, I truly feel you're pain. I've seen the hiring pratices for PIE'S change several dozen times over the year's and guess what, they well change again, trust me. If you don't get called or hired you can call SAB, ask questions, they'll bark but not bite. Go to SAB and ask to see the hiring rosters. if they missed you, file paper work and you"ll get paid. We have in my opinion, one of the best PIE coordinator's in my 25 years. Talk to her, she does care.
Great job you're doing with this blog Sgt. Lopez
