Why is it every time someone new comes on board at CIM, they think they can change it into a modern 270 design. CIM is that old house in the neighborhood, that is unique and has to be cared for differently. It's not that "cookie cutter" housing track were all the homes look the same.
So the point I'm making is that while a 270 prison can have certain staffing packages, CIM"s unique design, sometime calls for a different staffing packages. Yes, we know that a 270 on 1/W can be staffed with minimal staffing levels. Remember we can't even "deadlock" a housing unit, and put the kids to bed! CIM is 50% open dorm settings and 50% cell housing. And our prison spreads across acres, not just one entrance and you either make a left to go down to A/B facilities or a right and go to C/D facilities. At CIM you literally have to jump in a vehicle to get to the different yards.
The buzz on the yards is that the "new" management team wants to cut more positions on 1/W. Can someone please re-read the OIG report after the C/O Gonzalez murder, in regards to recommendations on staffing needs!!! I think when the legislators pushed for AB109, they looked at dollars and not safety and security.
Now Supervisors are going to be asked to not take Holidays, but if you do, you will leave your partners short handed. There proposing that all Holidays will be internal coverage. That's funny to me, because the last time I checked Supervisors were not effected by Holidays and or coverage. We never lost Holiday relief positions, management just used these positions to cover other PY's.
I hope to have notes from the AB109/CCPOA table being conducted in Sac, that started last week and should end today. There will be big news announced regarding the layoff notices!!!!!! Stay tuned for details.
Have a Safe 8

Bull is this suppose to be good news in regards to the lay off notices, or more doom and gloom?
ReplyDeleteI think you will like what I heard, but I'm not shooting rumors, I will wait until its official.
ReplyDeleteQuit trying to change things that wont change. Build two to four new prisons in this crazy state. like they were suppose to after Kern Valley was built in 2005, and get prepared to house them when this AB109 crap bites us all in the ass! Just give it time and wait for some real bad things to happen and it will change and prisons will be built.....probably private ones. Diemert
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your talking about deleting another S&E from cetrals hall one 1st (leaving only 1 in the hall) and the stopping of the hiring of tank cops for large tank counts. (if count is high we are to be pulled out of units to cover the hall) some one explain the logic of this to me. We are already running short on response staff before this happened.
ReplyDeleteIf Sgt. Lt.and Capt. could continue to EDUCATE the "new" management team on the lay out of the prison and its code response (or, lack of) its staffing positions might stay the same. Stop being yes men and women. stand up for line staff and officer safety. thank you for those that are for line staff, all others if something bad happens its on your conscience.
ReplyDeleteAll officers that received options sheets will be placed in positions they chose based on seniority and by bumping into positions at cim and ciw sb county. All officers left over or bumped will receive lay off notice but will be offered one last chance to maintian employment throughout the state....it will be pico position at a prison somewhere in state. Last option or be laid off. Yes it could be a pico spot at pelican bay or high desert.???? Risk vs reward? More like risk vs unknown. Diemert
ReplyDeleteBull, what good can come from this? Getting 1 day a week as a pico. To me I would rather take a layoff than live like that. So if you have any good news to include rumors please share them with us. Give us something to think positive about.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing positive about this, at all. This is all bad....if you have four years or less in CDCR, especially CIM, you're screwed. You're pico at best. Unless you got otap at another pen.....which could and likely will backfire in the next wave.??? This whole process is a total joke. Its no good for our profession and if you've looked around your streets lately, its obviously not good for public safety. Ex-cons out in front of businesses, malls, gas stations, etc. asking you to sign petitions to remove the death penalty(which we dont use anyways, but should), change immigration laws (to be less enforced), to end three strikes law PERIOD (not to fix it, to end it). Look at the people walking around your neighborhoods, look any different? Mine does.... I live in LA county, in a relatively good area and I know the surrounding cities are not good areas but within the last few months I've seen a lot of crap around that wasnt there before. We are allowing our state to be run by criminals and the criminal attitude. Diemert
ReplyDeleteYOUR 100% DIEMERT. THAT'S WHO'S MAKING THE DECISIONS. C/O LEONARD
