As many of you know, the layoff notices were mailed out over the Weekend. The numbers I was provided are that 34 Correctional Officers at CIM received a layoff notice.
There was no Sergeants that received notice, and zero Lieutenants received notice.(I'm not real sure about these numbers)
More than ever look out for your partners, we have many friends that are being effected by the layoff. There are many resources available to you. Please contact me if you need to vent or just have general questions.
I'm hoping CIM management will be out and about, talking to staff.

There were 67 lay offs at DVI those are straight lay offs, there were about 15-20 demotions from LT's to SGT's and from SGT's to C/o's....the 2nd wave will be starting in March!!! And it doesn't look good for us that will be unemployed...it doesn't look like we will be hired back for a long time...ohhh and there is NO academy in July!!"

ReplyDeleteTexas! They have tons of prisons, would hire us in a heartbeat and dont play games we play in Cali. The cost of living is less and no taxes. The pay pretty much balances out with the cost of living and no taxes. Just a option. Last resort. If you can handle a change in politics, not a big deal. Not a lot of options for us out there in California. Private prisons? Federal prisons? Local counties and cities....not many hiring. Diemert

DeleteWhile I don't think any Supervisors is going to be receive an actual Layoff, I believe we have a couple of Supervisors that are going to demote. You know who you are, and it SUCKS!

DeleteDemotion...or Suckered.....ok 17 OTAP...37 PICO spots. No MEMO, No information, No specific criteria for Officers to base their decision to demote. Now PICO spots given to officers that did not need to demote and take away from Officers that could of took a PICO spot and are now LAID OFF and can no longer feed their families. Thanks CIM Personnel Assignments and Personnel Administration.

Come on bro, remember who you are dealing with here..... just a bunch of "blog warriors" hiding behind a computer screen. These are the same people that have been finding out where I am working, calling me, talking shit without identifying themselves, or just hanging up when I answer. All because they didn't like something I said in a post. And these same people still do not have the intestinal fortitude to confront me in person. You have no idea the backlash I've been receiving at work because of some of my posts here on this site. And I know this probably goes without saying, but of course everything that is being done to me, is being done anonymously. But what else do you really expect from these neanderthals.

ReplyDeleteLayoffs, zero tolorence for overtime, post cuts, unsafe working conditions, okay we get it the state is broke. If we are so broke why is the department hiring RA Double Dippers to run CIM. I can understand a transition team but I hear another retired Warden has arrived to over see the Facility C activation. Don't we have a Captain and Associate Warden on the payroll already. Is there a lack of confidence going on here or just another Homie hook up? So while you have been laidoff and are waiting for your unemployment check to arrive try not to think of the Double Dippers collecting 18 grand monthly. What a scam.
