Delay in Payment of Custody OT

I was contacted by the Wardens office today about the overtime checks and the delay in processing them. The Wardens office should be putting out an instant bulletin regarding this issue and a time when you should expect to receive your pay. This is not the first time that this has happened but it is the first time that it is on such a large scale. I have done extensive research on this issue with overtime checks not being paid on the 15; unfortunately there is no deadline. If however any one experiences a delay in their regular paycheck, there are laws to protect us.

The BU6 MOU says this on the overtime checks;

11.05 Overtime Checks
Each institution shall make its best effort to process employees’ overtime checks in the shortest possible time. Overtime checks shall be released to the employee as soon as possible following their receipt and expeditious processing at the institution/facility/ camp office.

Upon notice from CCPOA, the State agrees to meet at a job site where issuance of overtime checks is consistently beyond the 15th of the month for the purpose of developing a mutually acceptable overtime check distribution process. Part of this process may include Express Service (mail, delivery service, or personal service) to the Controller’s Office and, if possible, from the Controller’s Office.

I was told that it is an issue with the new computer program. However I can assure you that we will be having discussions with the Warden at the next labor management meeting regarding this issue along with other pay issues. If anyone has any other issues that they would like to be brought up regarding pay, please contact a Chief Steward.

  3. F. Stevens, were gonna need those new laws to protect us, regarding paycheck pay days. I have been told that numerous PIE/PICO's did not receive their regular pay checks on the 15th. I was in the Wardens IST meeting when he said a few may not receive their checks. However, I believe that the number is growing as far as PICO's that did not receive their regular pay. Someone gave the Warden bad information, kinda of less than truthful?!

  4. Stevens I know you and the other union reps have taken a lot of slack some warranted ( mike jiminez vote) and some not, what I feel we need is more info from you guys , everything we hear is always through the grapevine or info that's rumored , we no longer receive news letters from the local chapter and cimccpoa website hasn't been updated in over a year. I know at this time in cdcr there are a lot of uncertainties but keep us updated on what you know or don't know , not all of us have a direct line to ya and we need to know our rights when it comes to management and the ever changing policies that's being inflicted on us and in which we are to adhere too,

  7. I am a PIE/PICO and this is insane. I spoke with personal last week and they said realistically we will not get paid until Tuesday. The memo posted from the Warden states that we would be paid on 01/13/2012. I will be contacting the labor board to see what we can do as far as filing against CIM. I am tired of personal consistintly messing up and not being held accountable. I bet they all received their checks and they where the correct amount!

  8. I would be embarrassed if I worked in the personnel department at CIM. With all the mistakes they make when it comes to payroll every month, don't you think it's time to either take 5% away from them or just plain out get rid of them. They do no good when it comes to peoples hard earned money. With all the postings regarding this subject, nothing will ever be done, no one will be held accountable, it's a shame that we as officers have to suffer because of their mistakes.
