I thought it couldn't get worse for impacted employees facing layoff! Not only did CDCR show you the door but now they are going to deny you the chance of "cashing out" your leave credits.
Impacted Permanent Full Time Officers are being noticed on the mandatory usage of designated leave credits and have been authorized to use designated leave credits. Impacted Intermittent Employees Have Not Been authorized the use of designated leave credits at this time. The designated leave usage will begin as noted on attachment "A". (see memo in SAB)
Can you say, "numerous lawsuits"? Furlough time for all PFT and PICOs impacted, that they will not be able to burn, must be payed out. That was time worked and not paid. The state is digging themselves a much deeper hole if they keep leaving themselves open for more lawsuits. LAME. They agreed to this situation under ARNOLD, now they have to bite the bullet!
ReplyDeleteLaw$uits like I said in previous post. State needs to bite the bullet. This is total irresponsibility on the states behalf. ARNOLD wanted furloughs, we were told to use them within two years after the stopped....we can't use them now. PAY UP, its time worked! Diemert
ReplyDeleteDefinite lawsuit! I have 4 months on the books not including 300 furlough hours. This was earned time we just need to band together and file claims with labor board. Then attorney.
ReplyDeleteWow,..... Say good bye to our Furlough and PLP time that we earned, just like that!! This is so outrageous!
ReplyDeleteLet me clear up my post, if the layoff date is feb 29 and you get called in on 2/2, you will have to burn your time = 27 leave credits, you still get to cash out the remaining balance. I'm just not sure how they will do Furloughs, since it was always said that you couldn't cash out Furloughs. Maybe someone from Management can respond?
ReplyDeleteLet's not count on CCPOA to help us. Let's seek repensentation on our own. We need to find out if this directive came from Sacramento or CIM management. Everyone needs to start documenting all conversations with the institution. We need to cover our bases definitley have a case.
ReplyDeleteIf a furlough is time worked and not paid, just added to a balance by three a month, it has to be paid if you cannot burn it. Am I in the Twilight Zone? It seems the rules are just being made up and changed as we go along. I understand they say you couldn't cash out furloughs, but under the circumstances these officers have all this time sick-holiday-vacation- and furlough, how is it fair labor to not pay them for time on the books and time worked that they can't cash out? Lawsuits seem to be the only results....union dues put to work first and foremost....its time for that $ to be used on backing us in this mess! Diemert
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone from Management can respond? No need.....Can you touch your toes without bending your knees?
ReplyDeleteJust a little info I was able to squeeze out of assignments: 1) They have been instructed to b urn as much time as possible off your books. 2) Any remaining time on the books is to cashed out on the 29th. Now if that came from Sac I cannot say but as they told me it was " Direction from Administration" They are sched to meet with all those involved by the end of the week so if I learn anything else I will let you know.
ReplyDeleteThe only response management has or can give is the directive that was passed down by headquarters which was basically, since staff were to be using their furloughs and PLP time all along and we were told from the beginning that there was no money attached to these days, staff were to be told to use their time rather than lose it altogether. If the opportunity is provided to let the staff take the time, they were to use it. Otherwise the staff would lose it. If staff use the time and don't have enough time left with the State to use it all up, THEN the State will pay them for what is left.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with the LOUD music in SAB on first watch? It sounds like a night club in there when you call in sick.
ReplyDeleteThis is insane! I have called LT. Montez numerous times regarding the use of my PLP time prior to me loosing my job in a few weeks. LT.Montez simply says call your union... what a joke that is! I have left message after message with Travers and Mike Lopez! Unless, neither of the incompetent idiots can show enough respect to even return a call! The union is nothing but a group of useless dumb ASSES! I hope and pray their day come soon! All I want to know is what is going on with my time, time I worked for free for and can't even get a kiss my ass from them! Screw them and ALL of CIM administrato
ReplyDeleteok I had a meeting with assignments this morning and this is how they told me it will go down. Your Vac, Sick, and holiday are standard cash value. As for your PLP, PDD, and Furlough they are to burn every min they can till the end of the month. Should you have more time then can be used then you are to be off the rest of the month to burn what you can. Then any furlough you have left will be cashed out. BUT should you work and have any time left at the end of the month your furlough time will not be cashed out. (example: if you have 200 furlough hours and you work 1 day after your meeting with assignments then any time left at the end of feb will be lost and not cashed out)
