MOU 5.03 section A
The state is banking that they scare everyone into transferring to the institutions with high vacancy rates! This solves 2 problems for the state they scare you into a vacancy and they don't have to run the academy! The dept needs to lay no one off! Attrition alone the depar loses 1200 officers! Add a 5% furlough and the talk of pension reforms some of u old timers will actually retire and the state is eventually gonna have a real problem on there hands! I would not bid until last best and final comes out! The dept has and will not compute the real numbers until mid July. Statewide bid is a suckers bet!!
If and when can we start bumping people below us? Do we throw in the hell mary and bid on every position in hopes we get one? Do we stay and ride it out? Ugh!
This agency has been a head ache the moment I joined 4 years ago, I still don't understand why no one wants to leave. I'm starting to believe most cos can't pass a real background that a local pd, sheriff or law enforcement agency makes you go through. When I tell other cos about the agencies hiring, the answer is the same "I'm a grown as man, I got to do another academy" I think I found my answer. Stay safe. I start the chp academy in Aug. Keep bowing to the 30% of the dept. CDC is a job you can do until your 100, lazy fat old slobs sleeping in duty and making money. Pathetic. Glad the dept is going to shit.
If it's looks like you are being laid off use your sick time! It has no cash value. What are they going to do? Put you on the Captain Crunch list?
