I'm sure to cause a buzz storm of controversy here, but what the hell it's my blog. And I have a right to speak my mind anyway I want. You don't like it "kick rocks"!
I had the pleasure of working another Holiday yesterday in the Watch Office, it comes with the territory! It felt like old times with the call offs coming in like a blue light special at K-Mart. The Pies weren't answering the phones and so we headed for the OT list.
Say what you want, and I get it! Screw this department, I'm gonna get layed off anyway! However, for just a minute think about your fellow Officer that will get order over! On my watch we ordered over 7 staff members, and the count would have been much higher had the many Officer's wouldn't have stepped up and taken a last minute Over time.
With that being said, don't jump on Face Book and show what a great time you had on the 4th of July!
Sorry if I touched on some feeling's, it had to be said!!!
I know Morale is at a all time low, and if I could change it in anyway I sure in the Hell would. Surely, July 23 will bring some very bad news for Pies trying to get hours. The many staff who will be displaced and added to the "soup line".
Look I got an SROA letter myself, and I have 17 years (5 years of SO6)in the department. I'm guessing I got a letter because I have only 12 years of BU6 time?
Were all in this together! I don't think the department knows or cares what kind of stress this puts on folks. I hate to say it but it might get worse in November when the voters shoot down the tax hikes. Was BU5 on to something when they negotiated Furloughs, for a contract extension? Did we miss the ship, yet again? Remember 2013 will be upon us very soon, and it will be a contract year!
Have a Safe 8

I like the picture of the yard monster above this post.....this must be the reason c/o's from Cim come over to our joints and say. "well at Cim we do it this " Cim officers are the Paris Hiltons of correctional officers, they think there better than everybody else..........don't get mad just
ReplyDeleteHey brother not mad at all. The fact is that CIM is made up of 90% transfers from other joints. If you live in So Cal its a prime joint to work.
DeleteI'm guessing your a 270 Pepsi Generation cop? I could be wrong. Working at old joints like Folsom, DVI, "Q" and CIM (and others)takes a cop willing to adapt to any situation. We can't deadlock the unit and call it a day when sh.. goes bad.
Thats why CIM has seen it's share of major riots, ask some of the Brothers that have responded from other joints. They all said How and the F---K do you guys do it!!!!!
We may not always get along at CIM, but when the Alarm sounds we "got each others BACK"!!!
"We may not always get along at CIM, but when the Alarm sounds we got each other BACK!!!" Truer words couldn't be said. One big disfunctional family, however when the blue light flashes and the alarm is sounding, no finer group of Officers responding than those at CIM.
ReplyDelete@10:23 am: If you have never worked the beat at an old joint you really have no room to speak. I currently work Cim but have worked 270 and 180 style joints. And yes Cim does have there share of "Hilton" like C/O's but I have seen them at my other joints as well (maybe not as many but hey its 2012). Anyways appreciate what you have and what we don't (Gun coverage). Cim line-staff has a lot on their plate facing the same dangers you face in a facility that was built in 1941 and without any gun coverage. Instead of criticizing your brother on a blog why dont you pull him aside and teach him the way your joint does it and why you guys do it that way!
ReplyDeleteDo the officers at CIM look fit and top notch shape like the "yard monster" because here in SAC they look more like humpty dumpty, good job CIM at least you guys put the physical fitness incentive to use at a gym membership. Stay safe out there.
ReplyDeleteThats acutally me in the photo, they photo shopped the doughnut and cheeseburger out of my hands, but its me really!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteLol
@ Sitnbull, LOL!!!!
DeleteWow, only 7 order overs? I remember 30 t0 40!
ReplyDeleteTimes are different these days OG. We havent even given out much OT in the last 6 months or so. Speaking for myself on my watch, I havent ordered over anybody at CIM in 8 months. So yes 7 was alot for these days!
DeleteAnd yes I was around when we use to order the whole watch over, when the Academy was shut down. Your Friday!, who cares....
Agree if you start at CIM you don't learn much till you transfer and go to a different joint where no matter what cops have each others backs and there are no shiny boots and hash marks on class c jumpsuits... unfortunately it's all a chino thing. And no disrespect bull, but when you call in you're not thinking about me and my family, likewise I'm not thinking about you are yours. We all need a break sometimes, to keep our marriages together and our family happy and not make cim/cdc OUR FRICKIN LIFE. You see those who do end up divorced and having to stay till there 75 because it's all they know they are lonely and have to pay the ex or ex's,yes I agree some do call in more than others... especially with this app fmla bs, if we work anywhere else they would not stand for fmla! COs Who only had a career at cim swear they are the s###, even though most of them have not seen or done a lick of work like a full functioning prison does, and that goes for all 4 yards at chino! So transfer out why you can and gain experience. No 1 should be griping about being held over anyways, when the yts bunch transferred over everyone were pissed off, so step up now and get your overtime back... cim staff
ReplyDeleteYou are right 7 is nothing. Just wait until September when the "BLACK HOLE" opens up and starts swallowing officers on sundays.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I try to swap as many summer days for those 16 beautiful Sunday's. LOL
Deletesarg,
ReplyDeleteany chance of making some t-shirts made. I
think this would be a good looking shirt espcially for
the mud-run.
Sorry Brother the Mud Run t-shirts are already designed and ready for print. You are right this would make a great T-shirt!
DeleteThanks AB 109
ReplyDeleteSo tired of drama. Can't wait until this craaaaaaaaap is over, and say goodbye too this monster they call AB109.
ReplyDeleteCIM is my home and the only prison that i know, for that matter care to know. So to all you idiots who trash talk CIM we are on wave 2 here's your chance; I bid u adieu suckers. As for those who
ReplyDeletehave transferred and continue to visit this site for "information" come on now, your new institution is so good right! smdh. So what chino does it different with our shinny boots and harsh marks on our jumpsuits-it's call pride in what you wear. Working at a level 4 or at Chino it's all the same. It's a prison people and take a look at the top of the page. I'm a prison guard you don't like CIM the counties still hiring fools-kick rocks. I choose to remain anonymous because it's an option on the site and this is a p.a announcement.
Yeah right pico's calling off CRC wants a doctors note for every sick call regardless of a holiday if not its a waver. Where is that in the mou?
ReplyDeleteIt's in the agreement management can ask for a doc note on any day, doesn't matter if its the first day or the sixth...even if u have FMLA management can still ask u to bring in a doc note.. and reminder a doc note isn't a co pay....
