Good info from SQ site regarding July 23

Good day SQ,

!!! Standardized Staffing Update!!!

We have concluded local talks regarding staffing and I am happy to report that every Officer who was displaced through deletion maintained their same RDO's and Watch. Some may not have gotten the job they wanted but we did keep the RDO's the same. In addition to the above, we also received some positions that were manage...ment and converted them to bid to maintain the 70/30 split. There will be some displaced Officers who were in those positions, but they will have the opportunity to bid on that position once it goes up.

The Staffing package will go into effect on July 23rd unless something changes at HQ, so be prepared and watch the movement sheet tomorrow. The new positions created will go up for continuous bid on August 6th. I won't' post the jobs yet as the Officers in those jobs haven't been notified!

Let me try and squash some of the rumors:

* It is NOT my intent to do another bid, I've heard that one a lot.

* I have not lowered the Overtime cap

* No one has to make any decisions on work based on the SROA letter received, YET

* We are receiving 6 new Officers

* We are rolling over 7 Officers to full time.

* The Union meeting is scheduled for July 18th in IST Hall.

There are a lot of changes occurring in CDCR right now and I will ask every Officer to have patience and try and endure the process. This will go on for approximately 12-18 months and the department should settle down!!

Please if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Stop the RUMORS!!

(Thanks SQ for a great update)

  1. I really don't care about SQ in regards to this update. It serves no purpose for CIM! C'mon CIM local chapter! Fred reminds me of that book "Where's Waldo?" He blends in really well (wearing green) and is really hard to find (never there).

    1. I beg to differ, its really good that a Chapter will post info in regards to such an important subject.

The reason for the post was to show CIM staff that the local chapters should have reached some sort of agreements in regards to Standardize staffing. IE.. that they were able to get the positions aligned as far as 70/30 split!

And maybe we did! I just don't have that information.

    2. Good point bull! Is just a lil frustrating that we can't, at the very least, find out one bit of information from "our" chapter in regards to this situation. We shouldn't have to go to other prisons sites to find out what our outcome MIGHT be!
      Where's Waldo?

  2. Does that mean officers that were displaced prior to the agreement between the union & state a few months back will be given positions on the same watch with the same RDOs? Last I heard, mgt was only honoring the officers whos positions were deleted after the agreement even though it clearly states that all officers whos position was deleted as a result of AB 109, back in October?

    1. @ 11:37 AM, Great question, I was one of those officers whose bid spot was deleted back in october and Personel Assignment wont honor my RDO because he said that my spot was deleted before the agreement even though it clearly states on the contract that all officers whose post and bid position was deleted must be accomodated with the same RDO's And Watch for a year.

  6. Fred who? You mean Fred Flinstone? You ask him a question and his famous reply, " I will look into it" or " I don't know" and never gets back to you. Step down Mr. Flinstone.
