CIM is allowing 12 Sergeants to transfer? And now this CIM Instant Bulletin is released?
Does this mean that the 3 Sergeants that were demoted to Officer in Wave 1 can return and do acting time?
Does this Department really know whats going on???????????????????
I cant believe the administration at CIM has the nerve to canvas for Acting Sergeants. They demoted 2 Sergeants here at CIM and they don't even have the courtesy to inquire if they would like to have their jobs back. Why would anyone except an acting position at CIM. All they are doing is helping out the Administration who obviously doesnt give a damn about any of us.

ReplyDeleteThis is simply a way to save $$$$$$$. Hire an actor and pay them an officers wage, then just prior to having to pick them up full time return them back to their officer post. The only way to beat administration is for officers not to take acting jobs and force administration to have to pay sergeants overtime. Don't be a "SCAB" and help out administration. This is one of the few opportunities we have to stick it back to the man!

ReplyDeleteI've been a proud union member since the 70s except for the last 4 years but that's another topic. I've seen my fair share of layoffs strikes and picket lines, upper management must be crazy if they think that any line staff would do any acting Sargent time. Don't put the blame on any of are uniformed supervisors, yes I know we have some winners, they just do what thier told to do, put the blame on the clusterfucs in management (CIM). Doing acting time would be like crossing a picket line to help out the (CIM). Let's think about how our brothers and sisters are getting screwed out of thier Sargents jobs, so please let's not cross that picket line

ReplyDeleteIf you do accept a position, you DO get a 5% increase after 15 days. After 30 you get 5% from day 1 of the assignment. After 120 days you get the difference between officer and sergeant pay. Administration cannot rotate OOC assignments to avoid paying this differential. I wouldn't piss on administration if they were on fire. For the 12 or so that jumped to CIW....nuts and butts to tits and twats.
ReplyDeleteYea what they are doing is crazy. Administration is doing whatever they can not to promote officer to sergeant. Any Officer or Sergeant is crazy if they accept an Acting assignment. Administration didn’t give a damn bout Limited term Lieutenants and Sergeants when they sent them back but now they want them to step up and help them out. I’ve talked to people who attend the morning meetings and they are pushing the captains to make people act because of the overtime. The way I look at it Sacramento allowed 12 sergeants to leave to ciw so if that caused cim to have overtime for sergeants OH WELL. It’s not our fault it’s on Sacramento. Why are they so worried. If they want to stop the overtime they should put the paperwork in to bring the demoted sergeants back to work. They are telling the captains to tell the officers that if they do the acting it will help them because cim will be interviewing soon for sergeant promotions. That’s a lie because they can’t promote any sergeants until they re-employ the 5 sergeants that were demoted in the county. So they aren’t telling the officers the whole truth. No one is getting promoted to sergeant here at cim until the demoted sergeants come back. So why help them and act. It’s just delaying the process. Make them bring back the demoted sergeants to get them out of the way so that way they can finally promote officers to sergeant.

Make Sacramento do the right thing and give the demoted Sgts there jobs back, or at least offer them there jobs! They probably don't want it. The problem for this dept is just starting, they are making dates and numbers that are not realistic. At the same time you have people retiring statewide. A major shortage in personnel will bite this dept in the ass! Overtime will return and another mass hiring will begin. This dept is run by morons!

Also a couple of those sergeants were once hardcore ass hole central staff that were down for the cause...LOL Now they can use their red pen to initial the unit inventory sheet for Tampon supplies. Also just because a regular C/O would want to step up and get his hands dirty and learn something new is a ass kisser and a joke? Also if a C/O does step up and you act immature, that makes you the joke.
ReplyDeleteThe state is short over 200 sergeants state wide. They have only hired limited term for the last couple years, and now the list is exhausted at most institutions. Every class has had a test or will have by the end of this month; lieutenant, captain, administrator... Why is the state so damn stingy with sergeants? The only transfers that did happen statewide were to the skank prison. Time for a new test and hiring the folks that have been shafted ASAP prior to that test happening.

Unfortunately you have a bunch of followers that have convinced there self that there hardcore! Most of you guys would never act the way you do on a 4 yard or even a 3 yard! Most of you guys won't even work MSF because that would make you have to a actually communicate with an inmate! There is more to this job then blousing your jumpsuit wearing black t shirts and passing out toilet paper! As to the Sgts going to CIW I say good luck it's always nice to change things up!! Everyone makes changes for different reasons you should not be knocked for it!

This is ridiculous. Hey this is not an US AGAINST THEM thing. All we want is for Sacramento and the Administration here at CIM to do the right thing. WE know money is always an issue but doing the right thing should also be taken into consideration. I dont even think the Administration here remembers they demoted sergeants back to officers. They probably forgot. So we want staff to stand up for each other so that those who lost their their rank at no fault of theirs, to get their stripes back. We need to get out of that mind set of Central against everyone else. that BS. thats the old days. This is a whole new era. If we dont stick by each other, WHO WILL????
First of all only two full time sergeants were demoted to officer and sent to camps. The other sergeants were limited term and they all knew before accepting the position that there may have been a chance they would be sent back to officer so everyone who keeps running their mouth about giving them their jobs back need to shut it. Only the two demoted sergeants should be offered a sergeants position then interviews need to be conducted to fill any other vacancy. Also any one who accepts a limited term spot set them selves up for possible demotion.

DeleteIn my opinion here's how the layoffs should go. let's say CIM numbers will be 700 C/O's. We all have to run one mile, the top seven hundred with the best times stay, the rest have to kick rocks, you are no longer fit for duty. Why not that's how it works in the real world, the most qualified stay...Oh I forgot, this is a government job.
